Currie ta kin g third on a Pen ton. T he part o f this race d evoted t o the l ' ovices saw a very quic k Ge org e R obins (Ya m ) make a mad d ash for the fini sh n ag j ust ahead o f th e rest o f t he co m pe ti tio n, while Rick Fifie ld (S uz ), and J ohn Raw son (Han) di ced it o ut for second and third p osit io n. Daddy Pau l Freese sh ould h ave stayed with th e Mini class; in his first 250 Begin ner m o ta he cra shed hard and had to ca ll it quits.
