Suzuki TM 75 The Suzuki TM 75 is also styled after its bigger brothers, the TM 250 and TM 400. It's a nice looking package in Suzuki yellow with black striping. The TM 75 is bigger th'an the MR 50, more in line with the Yamaha 80, Honda XR 75, etc. This is where it's going to compete. In stock form it's not really a go fast racer but has the potential for much more. A rotary valve two stroke propels the TM 75 ra ther well. The bike has good low end and is easy to ride. The four speed transmission shifts easily and has the conventional shift pattern I-N-2-34. The bike comes equipped with Suzuki's oil injection which saves the hassle of pre-mixing. Serious racers will no doubt strip the injection. The oil reservoir holds enough oil to go through five tanks of gas before refilling. The silenced exhaust system was very quiet but allowed a lot of two stroke goo to- dribble out allover the swing arm. The bike handled well in the limited area we had to ride in. Ronnie couldn't get it out of shape and had a ball sliding it. The TM 75 also comes 'with knobbies which helps in the traction and handIing department. While playing trials rider, it became apparent that Suzuki designed the footpeg support rather poorly. Another two inches of ground clearance could easily be gained with a better design. The bike comes equipped with number plates just like the bigger Suzukis and they add a racy appearance. The wide rotary valve engine is vulnerable to rocks and the fron t downtubes look like they were added them HOT HATS Peaceful coexistence at Cerritos' municipal cyde park. Add a speedometer and a skid plate and this bike would be right at home in a family enduro. The TM 75 lists for $399 and will be very competitive in the minicycle market. It's not a full fledged racer but is a good, solid, and dependable bike with potential to go racing (with modifications). In this respect it's just like it's bigger brothers.
