Top man of the night was Blix (Yam), who ripped the 250 Expert class. Blix was followed across the finish line by second-placer Jim Bauer (Mai), with a third place going to fast-improving Steve Miller, a Honda jockey who certainly bears watching in future weeks. Maico-mounted Martin was the number one finisher at Open Expert, with second place going to Kershaw (Mai), and third to Brown (CZ). So much for the money department. In the 125 Intermediate competition, number one man was John Mellin (Yam), with second place going to Mario Dos Santos (Hon), and third place to Brett Rooke (Hon). Ruler of the Minibike action was none other than Eric Coffin (Hon), wbile the top member of the fairer sex, namdy the Powder Puff class, was Janice Kline (Hon). Novice winners included Mark Raiche (Hon), 100 Novice; Randy Gauvin (Hon), 125 Novice; Joe Jones (Hon), 250 Novice; and J. MulJen (Cl). Open Novice. • . CRC MX at OCIR By The Shadow TUSTIN, CAL., NOV. 3 The California Racing Club's Saturday night program got underway tonight at Orange County International Raceway. Unfortunately, the turnout was not the greatest - but it was not the worst in the history of the Riverside-based club, either. CRC President Jerry McNeal reminds motocross en th usiasts the club will be hosting races at OCIR every Saturday night, offering 20 percent trophies to all classes except Expert, where there will be a 100 percent cash payback offered all divisions. Saturday nigh t, there was only the Open Expert class represented, witb Mark Rodman (Yam), a grand-slam victor. A win at 125 Intermediate went to Rob Erwin (Yam). Winners at the Novice levels were Lennie Garten (Suz), Open Novice; and Alan Smith (Hon), 125 Novice. As for the Powder Puffs, a win went to Nancy' Harris (Hon), with second place going to Stacy Bell (Hus). Incidentally, the CRC, helpful as ever, really through with information on the gals. Harris is 17-year-old, of Huntington Beach, sponsored by Norris Roberts Honda; and Bell is 16-year-old, of San ta Ana. The rest is up to you, the reader.
