Orange Bowl MX c:,~~ FRI. NOY.2nd sUN~41.~ ·SAT• .NOY. 3rd NOY.4th LEMAR CYCLE CENTRE "This is our way of saying thanks for making '73 a great year" VII Tamietti gets sideways at OCIR. By Tom Corley GIANT SAVINGS ON ALL '74 YAMAHAS EL TaRo, CAL., OCT. 26 A host of famous Southern California 250 Experts chased the Orange Bowl money tonight. Bruce Baron, Richard Grafton, Morris Malone, Ray Lopez, Larry McCarty, Val Tamietti and Mark Rodman all showed up to make the show. Orange County Cyde sensation Bruce Baron has been racing a very trick looking Yamaha 125 in the Expert class with satisfaetion recen~y. Tonight he came out with his Yamaha 250 and figured right on winning the 250 Expert class. The bike looked like one of the wlll"ks Yamahas because the tank was similarly painted by the hand of Dave Miller. Baron fixed up the bike towards a fITst moto lead and was a long gone first placer until Rich Grafton (Hon) snuck in behind the lightning streak Baron. Val Tamietti (Hon) was sailing ahead of famed Malone, 125 National holder Ray Lopez on a Bul, McCarty of AAA, and Mark Rodman who handled a bad crash last week yet was doin' it again at O.C.LR. Grafton got ornery and took the second moto win away from single file followers Tarnietti, BAron, Malone, LOpez and Rodman. The third moto gave evidence that it was a weird night 'cause as soon as the 250 Expert race started the ocean' fog started' to roll over the track like the dust of a start. Off the gate around the cherry-pick and just on tQP 01 the. jump called Lover's Leap the 250 Expert class came up and then c¥D" down when ramietti, Malone and Grafton unloaded. Rapidly they got the show on the road again and Baron beat Lopez and Malone as well as taking overall 250 Expert win above Rich Grafton and Morris Malone.
