Our one year old bike finished second. hen its two years old, , we'll finisli first. The Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail, a brand new bike in 1973, carried the British te~ to 2nd place in this year's ISDT. H it weren't for an untimely flat tire we would have been number l. Not bad for a freshman machine. But just wait until it's a sophomore. We're going to bounce the Czechs. Our showing surprised a lot of people. But we expected it. Some have said that the 'frophy Trail just wasn't a competition machine. But we pitted our virtually stock engines, transmissions and frames against the best of the 2-strokers ... the Huskys, Monarks, Bultacos, Ossas, Montesas, MZs, 41- Pentons, Yamahas, Kawasakis, Suzukis, Maicos, KTMs and Hondas. We changed to our off-the-shelf, quickdisconnect wheels and we creamed them! Four-stroke dependability really paidoff. Only the team from Czechoslovakia finished ahead of us. But in 1974 they're going to be staring at our tailpipes. Our big Triumph TR5T's and our little Rickman RI25SD's are going to make the mighty turn humble~ The British are coming! The British are coming! TiiiUiiiJj ---l
