Just 30 Minutes...
I finally fuDy realize what Russ
Sanford is up against in Sacramento,
trying to get legislation through to help
us desert riders.· Ever since that
unbelieveable map came out showing
just what the BLM has planned for the
desert, 1 have been trying frantically to
drum up enthusiasm among feUow
desert lovers to take just 30 minu tes
away from the TV one evening to write
to the eight people suggested by Mr.
Sanford, concerning their feelings abou t
the propsed map.
Everyone I've talked to is very much
up-in·arms over the situation also, but I
get the very distinct feeling that most of
them will find that they just don't have
the time to write, or they will forget
about it untiJ it is too late because they
just don't believe that anyone will
actually take the desert away from them
in the first place!
I don't think that petitions are going
to get the job done, nor are
• mimeographed letters. What is needed
