Send their names into Cycle News postmarked September 14. '973. If you live# in California. write to your Assemblyman and your state sen~tor. Tell them that you oppose AS 2645. which would close all of Red Rock Canyon to ORV use. Instead, tell .them to preserve parts of Red Rock Canyon that need preserving, and let people ride bikes in some parts of Red Rock Canyon. just like the state Parks and Recreation Commission suggested. Their Senator John Tunney's press secretary, Jack McDonald, won't give Cycle News an intervievv with the senator after ten months of requests. He says that the problems and concerns of bikers "are very low priority." Write to Senator John V. ·Tunney, United States Senate, Washington, D.C. 20510. and tell him how you feel about McDonald's· attitude.
