Norm Bentley (Hon) won the 360 Novice class with Oluck Furnari (Kaw) and Eddie Diu following. The 360 Junior class went to Marty Lewis with Danny Mills and Billy Strange next. There are two more half-mile meetings scheduled at Calistoga with sportsman races on September 28 and professional races October 13. • Petaluma Short Track By James Brammer PETALUMA, CAL., AUG. 24 Scrambles rider Bill Bisel (Suz) says he doesn't like short track, but you could not have known by watching him win the 250 Junior class at Petaluma Friday nighL Who ever heard of a Suzuki rider winning short track? He was speedy to stay ahead of Mike Kasso and Guy Travis in second and third who wouldn't let off the pressure. A newly classed Expert in scrambles, Bisel is a hot contender there but an upset to his class with a short track win. No longer a surprise is Oleryl Vestal's skill. She wrapped up the 100 class championship at Petaluma Saturday night with 905 points by finishing in front of Kim Wilson. Wilson has 825 points. Jim Neuenburg (Bul) won the 360 Junior final by overtaking Ken Peschel early in the race for second and then winning a dice with Jim Walsh -(Yam) for the leading position. Kelly Mcisaac (Oss) led the 250 Experts to the tmisb with Fenn Pervier, John Guglielmetti, and Dorian Jewett holding white plate point leader, Larry Drew to fifth place. Fenn Pervier (Bul) scored again in the 360 class with Dennis Robinson and Ron Sarver penalized for early starting. Robinson wen t from the cheater's line to third in the Main. Sarver had won the . two previous short track races at Petaluma. New to the Expert class, Sarver is the hottest upstart on the scene, but watch Rick Delacy. • row of 100 Novices gets --V lit Calistoga. MK VI For the 1968 price.
