Dries out ignitions... protects the entire electrical system... protects the cable mechanism... keeps chrome sharp... even protects your vinyl. Fantastic? You said it! By Alice Rhea IN . Got the official word from George Elliott at "Popular Cycling" that J.N. will be riding the SCORE race at Riverside Raceway early in LPS # 3 There has never been an all-weather chain lubricant and rust inhibitor like this. Its complex formula will protect your chains whether the course is wet or dry, hot or cool, smooth or rough. And it won't sling off. No wonder it's the West's hottest seller. October_ This is that race with cars and motorcycles racing on '" closed circuit against the clock. If you don't want to compete with the cars you can sign up in the Amateur class and race just wi th other bikes, or if you are feeling really gu tsy, like J .N., you can ride professional and race against the cars. At any rate, I'll bet they get a lot of spectators ou t just to see J.N. race again. Nothing could keep me away, and I know half of the people in the desert are anxious to see the King ride again. ~ Write for free copy of ., Mike Capalite's test report on LPS #1 in "Cvcle Guide." Tbey were being filmed for "Thrill Seekers" and John now informs me that the segment will be aired at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 23. We should be able to get home from the desert race in time to see it. John McCown and his wonder dog Kookie are probably the best known people in the desert, aside from those who are always winning races, and not just because they are so unusual, but that John and his wife Lonnie are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and what we like to thin k is an example of the kind ,Df people".. involved wi th desert racing. Poor Kookie has been single for so long, but now he has a lady in his life and things are looking much better. Kookie's wife is a small hIack lady with some white on her face and chest; a pretty, happy, frisky little gal, but quite independent. Seems she is having nothing to do with her new husband, hut as usually happens with arranged marriages, she is expec ted to thaw ou t under the tender atten tions of Kookie. The purpose of this union, aside from making Kookie happy, is of course, puppies. Rescue 3 doesn't know it yet, hut John has been trying to get hold of them to tell them his plan. He would like to keep two of the pups and raffle off the balance. I know Rescue 3 will he glad to receive the proceeds of the raffle as they are chronically short of funds. (If you wish to donate, the money is tax deductihle.) Who wouldn't love to have ODe of Kookie 's pups? I am going to buy as many tickets as I can afford, not only because Rescue 3 is such· a deserving organization, hu t because I really need a dog. C'mon, little lady, Kookie isn't such a had guy, even if he is famous. Baja During the Ensenada 300 I had a chance to observe an unknown rider, Mark Mason from L.as Vegas. Mark was Jack Johnson's partner and after Jack hroke his leg Mason saved the race for them. (They took second r1ace in the bikes at about 4th overall. Everybody knows Jack from the Mint, hut Mark has only been riding for two years and is just becoming known around his home town. Scott Hardin, also of Las Vegas, the guy who took fourth overall and second 250 Expert at the Barstow M.C.'s Hare Scrambles recently is Mark's choice as partner in the SNORE 250 which will be held September 22 (or 23) and it looks like they will he the team ~w~~ • FREE "MOLLY 'BLUE GOODIE BOX" "1O ALL ENTRANTS 40 MOlLY BlUE'S IJ~ ..
