Rich Eierstedt was very consisten t on
his American Motocross-sponsored

overall. He led the first moto for some
time before being overtaken by Staten

a first overall.
The younger Grossi, Bill, flashed in
the second moto with a second to
compliment his fifth in the first. The
total was good enough to give a third
overall. Brother Bob took seventh
overall, enough better than Lamppu's

SIDE HACKS
The sidehackers came ou! for their
last appearance of the year and put on
their usual dynamite show. It was easy
to see that they have been .running for
some time on a limited budget as the
mechani aJ breakdowns were numerous.
S till, the hackers managed to draw more
o-o-o-os and ah-h-h-hs than anything
except the outhouses at Saddleback.
Runaway winners were Lorenz and
Samuel Haller on their Honda 750 rig.
Their Honda had just enough engine left
to finish two molOS but not necessarily'

the victory lap. They were pursued
madly by many failing rigs. Most
seemed to have been run a little too
long and a little too hard to get through
the final Saddleback race.
For many of the spectators, the
sidecars were probably the high point of
the day. Wasp sidecars going down
"Banzai Hill" side by side are quite a
sight. They all seemed 10 have quite a
good time, though, and when
breakdowns brought an end to their ride
they sat by the track and waved at the
crowd.
Marty Tripes (CZI went to work and took sixth overall, displacing Brad as top Yank.
The Haller Bros. Honda Wasp won the "exhibition" again, as it had at Carnegie.
