SOGG£ DRY LAKE, CAL., Nov. 12,
1972· - Friday night the Pomona Valley
Desert Riders were woridering if they
were going to be able to even pu t on an
enduro. It was raining hard and a lot of
their work was being washed away. The
rain stopped Saturday though and with
more hard work the course was ready to
go for Sunday.
The further problems: About 3:30
Saturday afternoon came word that 2
teenage boys ap;es 15 and 16 were
missing. The PVDR formed a search
party, but by nightfall the boys b.ad not
been located so it looked that they were
going to spend the night out on the cold
cold desert. Saturday night it got down
around 29 degrees with a cb.ilI factor
making it much less because of the high
winds. However Sunday morning a
search party of Enduro riders was
assembling when came word that the
PVDR course crew bad found the boys
and they were OK, A book of matches
