The aces were all au t in full force for the 500 Senior action where four men on CZ's made the scene. Rex Staten from Triumph-Suzuki of Pomona wrapped up the motos in first. He is easily noticed by his starred leathers and, especially, by the way he rides: like a jet! Rex was hassled by Valerian's Two-Cycle City great Jim Wilson. Jim gave hint th at he would snuff out Staten at times but Staten was the eventual winner. Hangin' it out behind these two was the likes of David Helick and Mike Krebs (CZ) with Gary Cochell (Bul) and Terry Power on a Beeser having rare trouble in placing on top of this claSii.
