CORONA, CAL., Sept. 15, 1972 - The
minicycles led off the program and Bill
Taylor really waxed his competitors.
Dana Warn a (Yam) was a distant
second. Randy Grizzle came in third. He
would have done much better had he
been able to finish the third moto.
In the 100 Junior class, Dave
Montgomery won two out of three
motos and thereby took the overall win
away from Marc Cartwrigh t who won
the other one and then came in second
in two out of three. Les Marx (Hod) was
some distance back.
In the 125 Beginner, Fernando Belair
on a Bullaco was the runaway winner.
Eddie Coulter (Yam) gave h.im quite a
race except in the second molD. He
couldn't finish. Greg pend love (Pen)
came in third.
In the 250 Junior race, John Mille.
(Cl) took two firsts and a second and
thereby outpointed John Rogers (Suz~
who won the first moto and came il
second the next two. Mike Albrigh
(Yam) was third.
In the 250 Beginner Division IDa'
Crawford (Suz) won all three moto
going away. Donald Ross (Yam) too
three consistent thirds: however, it was
enough points to put him in second
overall position just ahead of Bret
Lockhart (Yam).
In the 250 Beginner Division II Glenn
Perry (Yam) took two firsts and a
fourth and his point total was enough to
put him ahead of John Gary on a
tiultaco who took the overall second.
Brant Schoney on a Suzuki was the
third place finisher.
In Ihe 125 Junior Dean Modesett,
aboard a DKW swept all three moto .
Glen Davis, aboard a Yamaha, took one
second and two thirds for second
position. Cameron Walker aboard a
Suzuki was thjrd.
In the 500 Junior which was
combined with the Old timers, Mike
McKnigh t was once again first with two
firsts and one third. John Rogers on a
Suzuki took two seconds and a first for
second pos.ition just ahead of Charlie

DEVORE CAL., Sept. 17, 1972 More than three hundred riders were
getting off the line well and enjoying
excellent track conditions for the CRC
Motocross held at Arroyo Cycle Park.
The managemen t of the Arroyo track,
like many others, have been making
changes in the course from time to time.
Most riders like the variations and are
happy for the change, recognizing that
it helps keep a few riders from getting
the track ,wired and provides an e1emen t
of surprise for all.
The lady of the day was Cory
Madison, riding a Yamaha. She was
three for three at the end of the day
easily winning each of her motos.
Shawn Huffman, DKW, turned in a
flawless performance, winning his
in lermediale division. Sh.awn looks

better every time he rides. He has
beautiful control straightening out the
crooked stuff, and that easy style seen
in much older and more experienced
riders.
The Old timers Cycle Club, rode their
first CRC race. We hope they'll get the
CRC habit' as they are a joy to have
around.
Other winning riders that are really
looking good were, James Kimura
(Yam), 100 Beginner; Dennis Rose, 125
Beginner-Under 16 on a DKW; and 100
Novice rider KurtJensen (Hod).
Gregg Bums (BSA),John Louis (Cl),
and Jeff Jennings (Yam) finished
one-two-three in
the Open
Novice-Under 16. It was a close race,
anybody's ball game from the start to
the checkered nag.
