GUTHRIE CENTER, IOWA, Sept. 2,
1972 - On a beautifully prepared
cushion track Badger Racing Assoc. held
one of its fastest and safest races. Not
one crash occurred on the almost
perfect track.
Walt Foster battled for ten laps to
hold on to his first place in the 25 Occ
Final with Mark Oswald and Rick
Sexton breathing down his neck.
Coming out of turn number four Rick
Sexton blew his engine and pushed the
sixty yards to the finish to salvage fifth
position.
Steve Droste put on a show, holding
off Lee Greene for the entire 750 Final.
Lee passed Steve two times, but Steve
would not be put off on the well
cushioned track.
fourteen year-old Jay Lamkin won
the 125cc Final going away. The 125cc
class in Badger is growing quite large,
becoming a really important part of all
Badger even ts.
