VALLEJO, CAL., Aug. 25,1972 -Jim
Coats (Yam) won the 250 Expert Main
at Vallejo Friday night in a 7-point final
filled with District 36 point leaders.
Taking the lead from the start, Coats
raced Larry Drew (Oss) several laps
narrowly holding to first. Meanwhile
Butch Davidson (Bul) was in third and
George Kalamaras (Bul) fourth. Late in
the race, Kalamaras passed Davidson in
(48F)
leads George Kalamaras on the final lap of the 250 Expert Main at Vallejo to win. Kalamaras was the winner in the 650 Expert final.

with Drew's c1u teb slipping. .
Motocross ace, Brad Lackey, missed
a transfer spot to the fmal by one place,
riding a Kawasaki to third in the 250
Expert Semi.
In a 125 Expert class won by District
36 point leader, Alex Jorgensen, Dave
Faria held a respectable second on a
100cc machine before being passed
midway in the race by Ted Davidson.
Butch Davidson, number two man in
the Distirct standings, finished second
to Randy Booth in the 500 Expert final.
Chuy Blanco from Santa Barbara
won the 650 Novice final on a Rickman.
Rick DeLacy took the 125 Novice class
lead from Frank Crane on the last lap
by passing on the inside in the comer
following the jump. In the same race,
Bill Horn moved up from seventh to
third.
New to the Junior class, winner Ed
Souza's 200 Bultaco proved legal under
protest. That's the second time. it has
been measured under protest.
Amon~ 279 entries, five were girls
who raced in classes with men.
