The sidehacks entertained the spectators with a different form of racing.

SALl:'olAS, CAL .. Aug. 27, 1972 - The
11 th Annual Benefit Scrambks by the
Salinas Ramblers M.C. and the Elks of
Salinas had an enthusiastic crowd
exceeding 12,000.
And overly large turnout of over 500
scramblers guaranteed an action-packed
day.
The 250 Expert entry of 78 riders
brought Alex Jorgensen 17 points and a
gain of five points on point leader Butch
Davidson, wbo finished sixth in a field
of 18 riders.
The entire show of. racing was
fantastic despite undue bardships that
plague the Salinas Rodeo grounds. No
mailer what anybody thought of the
way things were handled, the racing was
at its best and the benefit will continue.
The credit for organizing an operation
of this size goes to the Salinas Ramblers
and the Elks.
The problems were multifold but
when the green nag goes up, that is
what really matters.
Once again, the Side-hack Assn. put
on a tremendous display, despite one
visit to the hospital. Mike Parti and
Nann Jamison beat a two year streak,
after the restart, with slides that
