The most impressive machine to show up in Pasadena to get checked out was Bob George's S&S
twin-engined Harley-Davidson. It was quite possibly the most sanitary machine there. The giant
fuel lines give a considerably clue to its purpose. He doesn't ride it to work although he allowed
as how "it's possible" that Bar Markel might ride it in the next Mil~ National.
In stark contrast to the big brutal Harleys are the SOcc Suzukis of Darrell Packard. His machines
hold five records already and he has his eye on at least one more. The special framed version has
made a one-way pass of 94 mph! Packard apparently doesn't have his eye on speeds of over 100
miles per hour, though, because the 1963 vintage 200 by 18 Fujikura front tire isn't approved for
speed beyond that.
