'" gO < '" ;;: w z W ...J C,) >C,) <- I • New Berlin, New York, July 16, 1972 - in a tough rain-soaked race, Yamaha continued to make motocross history with their fourth consecutive Inter-AMA International Motocross victor.y! Under the riding leadership of Yamaha Factory Team rider Arne Lindfors, Yamaha dominated the two 45-minute 250cc motos for a decisive overall victory. The first moto was won by Yamaha Factory Team rider Torsten Hallman, followed by team mates Arne Lindfors, Gary Jones and Jimmy Weinert in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively. The second race was rough going all the way due to rainy weather, but Yamaha pulled through with a second place finish by Arne Lindfors, followed by teammates Gary Jones and Jimmy Weinert. The overall victory roster was a sweep for Yamaha: Arne Lindfors first~ Gary Jones second, Torsten Hallman third, and Jimmy Weinert fourth. Another four in a row for Yamaha! And in the open class competition, Yamaha Factory Team rider Dewayne Jones won the overall victory on his 360MX.
