Sets new 20-lap
track record.
The track was in 'great shap~ for the
AMA National dirt race at San Jose.
And so was Gene Romero. Gene
gunned his Triumph to a new 20-lap
track record of 8:38.24 (the old
record of 8:56.08 was held by a guy
named Gene Romero) . The 10-lap
semi-final was won by Gary Scott,
also in record time. And also on
a Triumph.
