Brown, out of Utah, took his CZ to three wins in three motos, and nailed down firSt overall. But unlike Gary Jones, Bob had to come from behind in each moto to make his sweep of the Open class. Another Jones boy, DeWayne T., led every one of his motos at the start, but it was always Brown at the rmish. Brown had to pass the Husky of Lars Larsson, the Maico of Gary Chaplin, and the similar CZ of Barry Higgins. He didn't get past Higgins until halfway through the last lap. While he was successful in sweeping all three motos, it regulated Higgins to a sweep of the second place spot in all three motos and second overall. DeWayne Jones, after leading at ·the stan of every moto, could do no better than third overall. Larsson finished fourth, Gary Chaplin got fifth, and then Boise local resident, Roy E. Terry got in for sixth overall to the delight of a highly. partisan crowd. Talking about the local partisans, their friendliness was really terrific. The Owyhee Motorcycle Club put forth an ~u tstanding effort. Along with their ou t of sight hospitality, a great day went without a hitch. The motocross course itself is something else. Not the greatest from the spectators' standpoint, but one hell of a course for the riders, in particular that long, steep, sandy downhill, 450 feet long, and set at 40 to 45 degrees; a real crowd pleaser. ..
