pack at bay all the way to receive the
Tustin Honda trophy and a kiss from
the lovely trophy girl.
The Division U Main Event was a
tough break for Troy McKee who had
moved up into the lead after spills by
Mike Mojesnek, Barry Idom and Dub
Ferrel, but as he came into the last
corner, be looked around to see wbo
was close and as he did, be bobbled a
little bit and that was all Steve Gresbam
was waiting for as be grabbed tbe lead
with about 20 feet to go before the
checkered flag.
The Match race of the evelling was a
series of three between Woods and Ivan
Mauger. With these two men, it is really
a matter of who gets the flip for the
inside pole position as Ivan got it in the
first one and proceeded to win it, then
Rick took it in the second and won and
in the last race, Ivan won the toss and
was in the lead when Rick who was
trYing to prove this theory wrong got it
on just a little too much and went down
in the comer, giving Ivan an easy win
for a two-out-of-three win over Woods.
This officially ended tbe speedway
season here in Southern California as
this was the last nigbt of the year, but
Speedway will be back next year bigger
and better than ever. So we will be back
next· year when the season opens up
again with the speedway news, see ya
then.
