Jay Peacock, another CZ'er cashed in for third place money behind the steady Husky pilotry of Ron Miller. The Open Seniors were thrown in with the Juniors. Mike Plunkett throttled his Husky into the first slot. Robin Cerasuelo, a top Canadian motocrosser who recently moved to Oxnard, Calif., showed his style by crossing up over the jumps and squaring off the berms. Robin rode the 250 Sr. and Open Sr. class, and his 250 Bultaco rarely had time to cool because the Open class immediately followed the 250 class. Robin's efforts garnished him a second overall Open and a sixth in the 250 class. Another group of Seniors were thrown in with the Juniors. The 125cc's must have the hottest Juniors going or the Seniors forgot to eat their wheaties. The fastest Senior was Rickman-mounted John Reyes, who had his problems and finished down on the Junior list. The second Senior was down on displacement, riding a new prototype 90cc Suzuki; although Walter Pollack's Suzuki lost part of a shock absorber. He managed to repair the Suzie for the last two motos. The super crossers in the 125cc Junior class had Tracy Oswell, Walter White, George Crosby and Mike Biddlingmeier playing muscial chairs. White was able to lead two motos for a coliple 0 f laps, un til fatigue started slowing him down. Overcoming below average starts, Oswell, who is becoming King of the Mountain here, managed to take the lead away both times. Crosby led the second moto all the way. Biddlingmeier managed to slip under White in the second for a third. After all the points were ta1Iied, Oswell's two wins and a second gave him the overall win.
