Pat Evans won tllree out of four race he ran, so, that's not new. George Kerker made a bid to tum the Big Bore Production race into a runaway but failed, now that's new, well a ~ttle anyway. George did develop a new method for a Le Mans start, it goes something like this: fmd a girl friend named Debbie Holt, list her as your sponser, and call her The Fox, now have your girl·type sponser hold your 500 lbs. of CB750 for the Le Mans start, the starter drops the flag, everyone starts running across the track towards one's machine, girl sponser prompdy lets out a piercing scream and drops said 500 Ibs. CB750 flat on its side, and with typical feminine expertise usesher bands to hide her eyes so she won't have to witness the male madness. Now George Kerker is not one to let a litde thing like that spoil his race day so he charges through the field in a couple of laps and grabs the lead. Now anything that starts off with bit of AeA RR: Very Interesting Mike Devlin calculates his line. George Kerker (90) hounds Bob Endicott. showmanship can't end with just any old runaway win, so George decides to play with Dick Kilgroe and Bob Endicott, just till th e last lap flag, you understand. , On the last lap, down off Wheelie Hill behind Kilgroe, into the 180 degree where Kilgroe promptly drops his Mach III Kawasaki. Can't avoid the end result, CB750 on its side again; Bob Endictott on his Honda Four cruises around the two "side trackers" for the win. Don Vesco raced today. and that is damn sure news, it's been some two years since it occurred that last time. Don finished second to Pat Evans in the %!to G.P., putting on one good ride. He was mounted on a new TD-3 250 of which there are less than 200 in the country. He also brought along the new TR-3 350, but didn't race it. (Results on page 32) To all outward appearances the two new Vamahas tuned by Don Vesco are identical. The motors are identical, same cases, bottom end. The stroke is the same, just different cylinders and pistons, you can make a TR·3 out of a TD·3 by changing the cylinders and pistons. They share the same 34mm carbs, and the only cha'nge to the intake is an extension block on the 250.
