TT and flat track motorcycle racing program at Trojan Speedway had a little bit of everything. It had 'Roy Widener enjoying one of his better performances by defeating Boo Sanders during the heat race, an accomplishment for any rider. It had Rick Goade losing the 250 F.T. trophy dash in the final fifty feet 'after his engine quit as he headed for the checkered flag. It had a spine.tingling crash involving four riders on the ftrst lap of the 250 TT Main Event, but fortunately no rider was seriously injured. But more significantly, it had Jimmy Raymond who just a little over a year ago, was the winningest rider at Trojan, making his return after a year's absence while recovering from a broken right leg as a result from a riding acciden t in Bakersfteld last year. And it had Dale Hopkins and Dan Corbett, sharing the winner's circle after their respective sensational victories in the 250 TT and F.T. Main Events. In defeating a 12-rider fielp, Hopkins aboard his Steve's Bultaco, came from behinQ to take the lead on the second lap, and then had to hold' off a strong challenge from Paul Coberly (BuI) and Cary Tanner (Mai) to notch his ninth Main Even t win of the season and increase his points towards the season's championship. Fourth was Mike Clarke (Bul) followed by Goade. . The 250 F.T. Main had Corbett, and Lakewood's Jim Barnes (Yam) go at it hot-and-heavy with Goode, Clarke, Tanner, and Craig Steigler in hot pursuit while they resembled a field of Class A speedway riders in th eir mad scramble for the checkered. All riders finished in this same order. Last week's winner of five Main Events, Sanders, had a tough night after winning the 100 TT Main, 100 and 125 F.T. Mains. He lost the lead and was forced to pit in the 125 TT Main with a broken clutch lever as a result of a tangle with eventual winner, Corbett. Then, he was sidlined from further action in the 250 TT Main after surviving a four-rider pile-up in the ftrst comer. '56 TRIUMPH 650 completely rebuUt. Also have most everything extra.
