Froschauer was followed across the line by a distant Phil Thompson (Yam) and Dan White on a Bridgestone. Jim Evans from San Bernardino, Calif., won the 250 Senior GP on a Kawasaki. Phil Pascoe, who usually rides in the Junior division, couldn't get his bike started for his race so he ran in the Senior class instead, earning a creditable second in the process. Rod Marufas was third.The day's highligh t was the appearance·of Japan's Junior 350 GP Ch'ampion, Ozaki Toshihiko. His blue and white TR 2 Yamaha ran away from the competitors. Many miles of new trails have been cut at the "Old Reservation". In response to public request, Walt James, general manager at Indi4n Dunes Park, has announced the opening of twenty additional miles of mountain trails many of which lead through some outstanding picnic locations. A new service for bike riders at the Dunes, is a steam cleaning rack where the c,ustomer can have a cycle thoroughly scrubbed for $1. Bike action has been hot and heavy on the new flat track. Events for this NEW PRODUCT FOR BUCO Richard G. Babbitt, Vice-President, Marketing, has announced the appointment of Gary Bryson to the position of New Product Manager for Buco Products, Encino, Calif., manufacturers of motorcycle helmets, clothing, and a wide variety of accessories. In his new position, Bryson will be responsible for coordinating all marketing, . sales, engineering and production for all new Buco products working in cooperation with the company sales department and assisting in developing products whenever a need is indicated in the motorcycle field. Bryson has been part-owner of Pacer Consolidated Industries, City of Industry, who produced a specialized line of motorcycle parts and accessories. Earlier positions include a position as Research and Development Manager for Yamaha International Corporation where he worked in cooperation with th e Japanese man ufacturers on new products that W01Jld be applicable to Yamaha motorcycles. Rick Hutchins topped Nate Ezell and Greg Mitchell for the win in Divi~ion III of 250 Novices. Nate would gab the lead off the lime but wasn't able to hold it after the first lap and then Rick took over. Doug Mason added another win to his already long string as he showed Marty Davis and Ken Miller his line in the 250cc-;l50cc Amateur-Expert class. Doug had to make his way through traffic but once on his line he is gone. His line although the shortest is the hardest 'to follow ~nJess you're a Doug Mason. As the match race draws closer between Mike and Danny Horton and Jamey Blunt in the 175 class, the wins keep jumping back and forth. This week the Hortons put it on Jamey again with Mike taking the win and Danny second with Jamey third. Jamey spent part of Saturday breaking in his new Ossa and Mike and Danny are making final tuning adjustments to their machines. The race is slated to take place on a Saturday nigh t within the next couple of weeks. Rex Hailey and Steve Robb took their respective 125 Novice classes. Rei< is a newcomer to the 125 class but has become s standout and should start looking for a transfer if he keeps on. Steve Bales, another consistent rider, won the 100 Division II class over Mike DuBont and Eric Arras. Marc Jones ran his win streak to two as he won the First Division of 100 Novices. Jim Clubb was second and John Robers third. Rohert Friese and David Jones won the Min-Bike classes while Ricky Hart and Jim Beck took the Mini·Cycles goes. (Results on page 28)
