Because of the rain and cold wind, a lot
of the riders were wearing weather·suits
of different sorts. Pomeroy's suit
consisted of a nylon slip-over with a
hood. The only problem with this
arrangement was that the hood kept
coming down over his eyes insjde his
helmet. Usually, it is about all a guy can

CYCLE HILLS' LOWER TRAcr OPENS
The Palo Alto M.C. will open the
lower track at Cycle Hills on June 6, for
the f1fst time in some six years. While
most of the racing is done on the' upper
track the lower facility was used as the
pit area. A new pit facility has been cut
leaving the lower track available once
again for racin g.
It has a very fast sweeping corner and
a long straigh t away that makes for
great racing. Also, a new concession
stand and tower have been erected and
the ground plowed for the spectator.
