IIIMY OWN RACE: 3 ELI TOMAC 2-1 450SX "I've got to start with saying that was a freaking sweet race," said winner Tomac a er Sunday's exci ng win. "It's easy to say for me, because I won, but it was really fun. On the line I was a li le bit nervous about my gate. I was pre y far inside. I was third on the inside there. Kind of played the safe card but got a really good jump. [I] slid around with those guys on the inside. Coop was in front of me. We just got going. We both had really good flow today on the track. It was a cool condi on, because we were s ll able to get those jump combos and really get around the track, but it was at the same me a li le bit sketchy enough to where some guys were kind of flounder- ing around. [We] went back and forth with each other twice there. It was just a really good race." 1 COOPER WEBB 1-2 450SX "Overall it was an incredible race," Webb said a er Sunday's race. "We were laying it all out there. I think I was first to the first turn and then Zach snuck inside of me. When I cleared him, it was me and Eli. I don't know how long I was able to lead, but I knew he was all over me. It was a barnburner. He led and then I led. I think I ended up leading twice. He led twice. The lappers were insane. From my end, I know I le it all out there. I felt like we were just both wan ng to purely win. It's unfortu- nate to lose by a second, but at the same Whatever it is, it's bad enough to seriously affect his perfor- mance on the track. He's fallen 26 points (one full round) in back of Tomac and is in danger of los- ing second to a rapidly closing Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM), who has gone 1-2 versus Roc- zen's 5-10 the last two rounds. Roczen is now just six points ahead of Webb in the title race. The race for the 250SX East title remains extremely enter- taining with Shane McElrath (Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha) winning for the fourth straight time at the Utah venue on Wednesday, which moved him into a tie for the title lead with Chase Sexton (Geico Honda). On Sunday, Sexton finally put the skids to McElrath's Utah streak, which put him back into the series lead by three points going into a 10-day break in the East Championship. The West finally gets its turn to race starting this Wednesday.
