l" o .... LOST ANGELS HOST 'fAST AND fUN'1T '" .i '" By Rich Hoffman ~ ELSINORE, CALIF., Nov. 15, 1970 Th.e Lost Angels found a good track and a beautiful day to hold their District 37 IT Point Run S~nday. Although there were no official results Sunday, the day was filled with some excellent racing that saw some of District 37's top riders vieing for points as the '70 season draws to a close. The 125cc and 250cc Novice classes, as usual, were the largest, with Rogger Dobbins (Yam) taking the 125cc Division. In the 250cc class Mike Meyers took top honors. Steve Nichols (Yam) captured the 125cc Expert division, but really had to work for it as he only won one of the three motos. However, he finished high enough in the other two to come out on top. Some of the best racing of the day was in the 250cc Expert class as Gary Scott, Dan Hockie and Scott Smith fought it out in three motos. Gary took the top spot in this division, as well as the 650cc Expert class, where' he and John Isaacs took turns leading the big bore bikes around the Elsinore IT. Very definitely worth mentioning are w Z w -' U >- U on t a 1971 King Scorpion the sidehacks. These guys really put on a race and were easily worth the admission by themselves. Winners of the sidehack event were Jack Moffit & Nich . • Soter os. (The above results are unofficial.) On this near perfect day the only real problems were the starts. It seems the starter and most of the riders had a tough time agreeing on where the • starting line was and because of this District 37 may now have a new starting method. Unlike the conventional flag, gate or rubber band starts, this one 'differs in that most of the riders are at a roll several seconds before the flag drops. Other than this (and the starts did improve, later in the day) everything was fast and fun at the Los Angels District 37 T.T. -.,..,.....".
