OCT.18tb Cambell Motorcycle Club Annual Championship ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF., Oct. 9, 1970 - It is getting to the point that the mention of OCS brings to mind one top rider here, Scott Smith. And, tonight, Smith did it again with four main event triumphs and the 250cc TT trophy dash in the HRL series of races. Close behind in the win column was Mark Kruse on a Ducati. He came out on top of the 250 ST Trophy Dash and the 250 and Open Short Track events. Report and photo by Rich Hoffman. (Results on page 22.) VALLEJO, CALIF., Oct. 2, 1970 - John Gennai is the strong man of the Sportsman TT races at the Vallejo Speedway. With only one night of racing left, Oct. 9, Gennai picked up his fourth, first-place trophy during the past nine races. This ties Jim Foley's record of four wins in the same period. John Green is the only other winner in that competitive 250cc Expert class during the same period. Bill Trumbull on a Yamaha from Fairfield made the remarkable ride of the night in the 500-650cc Expert final. He broke into the action about half-way through the race by passing both Bill Budde and Foley at one time in the south corner moving from fifth to second. From then on he challenged the winner, John Green (Mon) to the end of the 10·lap final, the 47th and final race on the night's program. As the spectators left, they were taking sides asking if Trumbull could pass Geen if the race was longer. Reports and photo by James Brammer. (Results on page 22.)
