Billy Clements and his trusty Husky
Takes
Giant
Step
He came back in the 250' Sr. class to
easily win the first two but was 5th off
the line in the fmal round. In this last
moto, (the 6th race' for Bill), Martin
Tripes was in the lead and couldn't do
anything wrong. Bill used the last of his
strength getting around John Rubcic
(CZ) and Jerry Willman (CZ) so' when
he moved behind Martin he settled for
second in the moto and first overall.
Jim Beauchamp (Sachs) had a hard
fought race in the 125 Expert from start
to finish. john Rossi (Yam) and jim
Boldt gave jim Beauchamp more than a
run for his money. jim Boldt was'
amazing on his Honda, for in the fmal
moto he lead the pack edging Jim
Beauchamp out, until a steep long up
hill gave the Sachs an advantage. Martin
Davis (Bul) battled with Boldt and soon
slipped by. Boldt was 3rd Intermediate
on his Honda.
Bob Rowe (Hod) won the fIrSt 100cc
moto. The second round was a bit
messy. Bob went down. Eob was fourth
off the line and pressing hard. It was
either a win or die trying. He worked his
way to second and behind Mike Slaton
(BuI) ana wicked it on. The inevitable
happened and he dropped to 8th and a
5th overall. Mike took a fIrst overall.
Tom Darrah (Husky) won all three of
his 500 Jr. motos. •
