Bobby Butt made his first attempt at the Expert class a successful one with a win in 125cc while Bryon Farnsworth really wailed to a 350-0pen win. White appeared on his way to a 250cc win when his gas expired with less than a lap to go which shows it happens even to the best. Report and photo by Gary Schmythe. (Results on page 22.) GARDENA, CALIF., SEpt. 25, 1970 - The one-two Norton combo of Jody Nicholas and Shorty Seaborne were finally subdued in the Ascot Half-Mile races and it took the Triumph of National Champion Gene Romero to do it. Romero teamed up with Tom Rockwood to turn the Norton tide and the pair finished one-three while Jody and Shorty collected the checkered second-fourth respectively_ Triumphs throttled by Lloyd Houchins, Eddie Mulder, Carl Patrick, Dave Smith and Robin Martin locked up the five through nine places. ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF., Sept. 23,1970 - Dave Aldana made a surprise visit at Orange County Speedway for TT and Short Track races and really delighted the spectators as he aced out Ray Vanderpool to take first in both the 250 and SOOcc Short Track races. Vanderpool wasn't too upset as he took a pair of firsts in the same divisions of the TT action. Next Wednesday will be the last regularly scheduled ACA event here at OCS for this year.
