It is like Snoppy, the great dog says, Happiness is day at Bay Mare. There are some 3500 fans thaI can swear to it, by far the largest one day crowd that has ever attended any event here. The starters flag was dropped at 1 I and they were off and running. It's nearly impossible to give the final order of standings at this time. Have you ever seen, 700 registered riders compete in 48 races? That is three complete Moto's run in just under seven hours. Figure it out, that's about eight and one half minutes a race. . A great big vote of thanks, well done and all that goes with should be handed to thos repsonsible for a job well done. Good officials, comer men, public facilities and etc. These people have big things in store and.mind for you at a later date. (Results on page 22) Dean Preston on his way to a first in the 250cc Div. I "C". After a rather boring drive up from L.A., I was met by that friendly Tex Meyers, Dave Grove, Gary Anderson and a whole host of hard workinlt people who have the knack for putting on one great day of racing. First off, Grove, that no-nonsense starter, held the regular rider's mee.ring. This lasted from 9:30 to 9:55 a.m. When he lays down the rules and law, you had better take heed. The track opened for practice under one of those near perfect, sunny Southern California skies, practice closed at 10:55. ~.
