GARDENA, CALIF., Sept. 28, 1970 - Eddie Mulder is back in his old TT form and nearly unbeatable. The long time. veteran and TT star is back on the win groove and the high point Expert in the once a month Ascot TT events. Riding the Love Bros. Triumph, Mulder nearly swept the boards but was turned back in the Torphy Dash by Mike Haney for his only loss of the night. Haney won his second dash of the year as the four fastest -qualifiers, Mulder, Rockwood, Dorsch and Mike squared off in the two lapper for the trophy. Gary Scott dogged Kenny Roberts for seven of the eight laps in the Novice final before he took over and won the 250cc Main Event on a Bultaco. The Harley sidehack team of. Hummer and Gulbranson was the easy winner of the ten lap sidecar race that found the largest number of hacks ever at Ascot. TT racing continues- to run at Ascot on a once a month basis and will return the second Saturday night in October. DEADMAN'S POINT, September 20, 1970 - There was great racing at D.M.P. this weekend with fine weather and a well "prepared track. The 250cc class saw some of the best action of the day with Jim Hoover and Jerry Willmon tangling in their efforts to win the class. These two usually do well_but not today! Ron Peterson was in the right pOsition at the right time so he gotthe win, while Rex Staten- got second. Bud Feldkamp won the open class. Next race on October 4th. John Issacs was the only rider to secure a win from Smith. In Jr. action, Robby MacEwen showed his colors to the rest of the pack by winning both the 250cc and 350-0pen Short track showdowns.
