Gene Romero and Don Castro
win on Bonneville 6505.
Riding a Triumph Bonneville 650, Gene Romero took a
clear first place in the 15-lap championship race at
Sedalia, Missouri. (This moved him into second place in
the AMA 1970 point standings. One more big win
could push him into the lead.) In the same one mile, dirt
track event, team-mate Don Castro, a rookie expert
for 70, took second, making it one-two for Triumph.
A big win for the big name in bikes.
