- Larry Taylor, winner of last month's
Trojan Speedway Fifty Lapper, was
apparently out wanning up for the same
event for 250 bikes next Thursday
night, as he won a trophy dash and one
main event.
Taylor won the 250 IT trophy dash,
mounted on his Bultaco, after the race
was restarted. In the first turn of the
race, Tommy Horton and Mike
Arambide collided, with Arambide
taking a bad fall. Both riders were in the
restart, however, but Taylor jumped
into the lead and kept it all the way.
In the 250 Flat Track Main, Taylor
followed Ron Powell in to the first turn
and then dueled Powell for the (ead. On
the third lap, Taylor got around Powell
and hera on for the win. Powell, riding a
Bultaco, was second, with Jim Miller
riding an Ossa placin.g third. Another
Ossa rider, Arambide, was fourth.
The 250 IT Main Event was won by
Dan Carlton, mounted on his Ossa.
Carlton was followed across the finish
line by Taylor, who battled him for the
lead for the entire race. Carlton
managed to hang on to his lead for the
win by just a split second.
Bob Byars, riding a Yamaba, was
third in the race, with the Morgan tuned
Kawasaki of Tommy Horton taking
fourth.

Fourth place was the best Scott Sivadge could attain in the 125 flat track races.
