Bob gave up his Bultaco and used Jim McDonald's CZ to put himself in the spot light in his class. Jim Wilson was running good, but could not catch up with Messer and settled for second place. Rich Thorwaldson was the big bike class winner, taking the class.victory over AJS mounted Jim West. Dewayne Keeter shook off a persistent Reg Chosney to end up in second place while Chosney faded to fifth. Mike Haney and Terry Sage were third and fourth. Kris Bakke led the Amateurs around and Gary Scott finally stayed in front of point leader Kenny Roberts in the Novice Main. Jody Nicholas again turned fast time of the night but could only manage a thi rd in the Trophy Dash behind Houchi ns and S!:lorty Seaborne.
