By Bob Hill ELSINORE, CAUF. August 9, 1970The Grlpsters really got it together tb1s Sunday evening to put on a really outstanding night of TT Scrambles racing at Elsinore. The Elsinore track, nestled In the foothills behind the northeast end of the lake, was In great shape and S. The smooth, fast Elsinore turn and esses must have been to Rogers' Uking, as he put ground between C. Brunson and himself. Brunson brought up the number two position with C. Wheat In" third. Wheat was on top during one of the three motos, but the smooth style of Robers was a Uttle too much for the Matcoman. Rogers sUpped underneath Wheat on the last lap In the back straightaway. V. Hannon was off Uke.a rille shot at the starter's slgnal'ln the 250Cc Expert go. Hanni's fast starts and ability to really hustle, put him at the top of the division, with three winning rides. Hannon and Hackie ran In close quarters for a few laps, but just when Hackie tried to overtake him, Hannon would pull away. C. Gann was giving chase to the two leaders trying to catch UP. Hart twisted, sUd, and jumped his way Intxi the number one slot In quite an Impressive manner. L. Bird gave chase to Hart and mlgbt have caught him If time had not run out. J. W1111ams held out and went on to take third. Tudor sped under the wire In fourth ahead of S. Hyder. The 'race as a whole tonight was letter perfect, well organized, and just plaln fun for riders and spectators. Not that they don't deserve the credit for putting on a truly fine show of riding, but due to the large number of Novice entries, coverage will have to be limited to the results page. (Results on page 22) They !1n1shed In just that order. L. Taylor, f1n1sh1ng fourth In the 250 Exper class, came back strong In the 125-200 Amateur-Expert run off by pulling away from' his competition and stretching his lead right to the wire three times In a row. Rider number 25x, D. Voll, pushed very hard to close. uP the gap between he and Taylor, but was never quite close enough to be a real serious threat. C.
