He, however, had a spirited battle with Jerry Tyler (Bul) from Tracy. In facti he was pass8!1 in the north corner with such determination by Tyler that both riders went to the fence. Lowell then in turn took his Yamaha to the inside of Tyler a !lip later in the south corner and proceeded to victory lane. Ron Long (Bul) from Sacramento ride a fine race to finisb third. . Jim Crenshaw (Bul) from Davis rode an easy race to place first in the 250cc Scratch Main. The 200cc Handicap Main was taken by Ron Alves (Hon) from Princeton. He has been trying faithfully the season long to get this win. John Grant (Ka w) from N. Highlands overcame his 45-yard handicap to take second, followed by Dan Toby (Yam) from Sacramento. John Grant was not to be denied and he took the 200cc Scratch Main riding in the style that won him the season championship at ~Ycleland Speedway last year in the 100cc class. Dan HUbbard, Chico, put his little 100cc Yamaha' first to the finish in the 100 Handicap Main. (Results on page 26) Teixeira Wins By Olsa Rand HAYWARD, CALIF. August 2, 1970Bruce Teixeira, dIs,trict number four rider, made It two in a row tonight with an easy win at the very slippery track. Bruce got off the line in fine str1e at' the Hayward Speedway and easily led the pack to the checkered flag. He also won at Lodi last night with the same smooth style that has made him a great rider. John Gennai picked up the second place points to keep him up with the front runners and Rick Hocking also kept up the point race with a third. • John Green won the 500 Expert Main over Ken Dalla to pick up an extra point over current champion Jim Foley. Green has been able to put a hard charge on Foley'S points as Foley's 500 is down for repairs. Joey Tacobitti won the 650 Expert Main again by leaving on the early express as he had done last Saturday night.
