Galore in Motocross By Elalne Jones PERRIS- WED. NITE, July 22, 1970Breakdown or fall down was the thing to do at Perris Wednesday night and twostroke, four-stroke and mini-bike alike all complied. Dennis Creason was back to his winning ways In the 250Cc Amateur-Expert class. Gary Caldwell who hans't been around for quite a while was second and Chuck Wheat got up for third. Cary Tanner was working all the horsepower as he pushed his Malco to the win In the Novice Moto A. Boyd Mason who tried awfully hard to change things was second and Gary Cowden got his C-Z In there for third. George Gillespie, who had one breakdown In the first race, .made a strong comeback and took the win 1n the Novice Moto B. David Alklnson was second and Dan Hudson third. The big bike Experts are still putting on the best shows. Bob Rudd took the first heat with no problems. The second heat saw Paul Lass go off on top with Chuc.k Wheat second and Bob after ~ lousy start a distant last. He did manage to salvage a third but now it wasn anybody's ball game. The final heat saw Paul again out on toP. Chuck Wheat and Bob RUdd were mixing it up pretty good behind him which Paul felt was great cause it lett him alone. On the last turn . of the final lap both Bob and Chuck put on a tremendous drive and both made one mistake. They drove into one another leaving Paul no problems at all.
