That custom look - $3.35 Steel wool pads are wrapped around the "holy" stinger, and it is encased in suitably sized exhaust pipe. tUbing is welded to the rear cone of the chamber, and the aft end is cut with Unsnips so that it can be bent down to the diameter of the stinger. We didn't even bother to weld it. The enclOSed photos show the installation on the Sherpa S 100cc. The addition of the Sting-Out on all four bikes has required no re- jetting of the carburetor or any other adjustment to the tuning. In this day and age of nonriders getting uP-tight at blke noise, it would seem that such a deVice would find wide useage, but most people I have shown it to don't seem too interested. We don't have anything to sell, or any axe to grind - 1 just would 11ke fellowriders to hear about this so they could give it a try. As 1 said before, I got to thinking about his mainly to eliminate my ringing ears, because anything which causes them to ring for 3 days can't be doing them much good. 1 read a recent article in one of the magazlnes where some fellows muffled a Harley Baja 100, but their modifications required cutting on the critical chamber dimensions, which this deVice doesn't.
