June 11,1970Hard charging Tommy Horton won a trophy dash and two main events Thursday night at Trojan Speedway. Horton, who had engine trouble last week and again this week in practice, rode his Kawasaki to a victol'Y in the 100 TT trophy dash. In the 100 TT Main Event again it was Tommy taking the checkered flag. Kirk Redding riding a Kawasaki finished right behind Horton with Mark Revels also on a Kawasaki placing third. Mounted on an A JS, Horton took the checkered flag again in the 250 TT Main Event. In the first turn three bikes tangled. Curoso rode well enough on the restart to take third place behind Bob Byars. Ron Powell was the winner of the 250 TT trophy dash riding his Bultaco. Powell also rode to victory 10 the 250 flat track dash. Yamaha mounted Dale Hopkins also took two trophy dashes in the 125 class. Dale won the TT and flat track dashes. Kirk Redd10g was the winner of the 125 TT Main Event mounted on a Kawasaki. The race had to be resfarted because Danny Corbett and Allen Swett tangled 10 the first turn. Swett was 10volved in a mishap last week 10 the same turn. Neither rider was 1ojur'ed. Redding was the first to cross the finish line in !be 100 flat track Main Event., Another Kawasaki rider, Mark Revels, placed second while Hodaka mounted Ron WUllams settled for the third spot. Tom Warren rode his Bultaco to victory 10 the 250 flat track Main Event. Ron Powell, another Bultaco rider, placed third. The first four places were bunched uP at the finish. The lead changed hands several times between Powell and Warren. Last week's winner of the 125 flat track Main, Dale Hopkins, did a repeat again this week. Dale built uP a sizeable lead for the victory. Lloyd Quintard, riding a Yamaha, f1n1sbed second with John Sperry, riding a Yamaha twin, took third. The bikes will be back again next week for flat track and TT racing. The 250 bikes will put on their FIFTY LAPPER in three weeks. Racing starts at 7:30 every Thursday night at Trojan Speedway.
