May 10, 1970Billy Clements won five out of six motos Sunday ' for wins In both the 250cc and 500cc Senior class Sunday at the ACA's motocross at Anzac Speedway. But not before some good racing between he and Bryar Holcolm (25Occ) and Carl Cotton (50Occ). . In the 250 Sr. go, Clements and Holcomb locked horns right from the beginning. This was Bryar's first ride on the 250 C Z and off the Une Clements shot his Husky Into the lead, with Holcomb just on his rear wheel. In the first and second motos the Husky slowly pulled away and took the win. The third moto started off the same, but Bryar crashed . and lost a lap, He did manage to pass Billy on the next Iap, Clements and Carl Cotton (CZ) set the pace In the 500 Sr. class. They dueled It out, both taldng and losing the lead. Clements won, Cotton was second, and Andre Pillon (Westalke 441 Rickman) took third. In the second moto Pillon (who 15 just coming back after 5 months) shot Into the lead, closely followed by Clements and Cotton. Billy zapped PilIon, ta1dng the lead and the win. Carldroppedbackwhen he broke his right footrest - but whlcked it on, standing on one leg. On the third go, Carl Cotton and Andre Pillon left Clements sitting on the Une. Billy had no 1st gear or Idck starter, and was a lap behind when he finally bump started. Billy still returned enough points for a 1st overall. Carl Cotton was second and a tired Andre P1lIon, third. Sldp Porter (Bultaco), winner of the l25cc Sportsman class - led for 10 minutes of the 20 minutes first moto In the 125 Sportsman-Senior combined. But Senior Bryar Holcomb (Pen.) closed the gap and sUpped by ta1dng the win 25 seconds ahead of Sldp. Bryar and Sldp were off again In the second moto, but Sldp dropped back, and sportsman Jesse Slaton (Bul) took up an unsuccessful challenge. Sldp Porter (Bul) shot Into the lead In the third go, and rode hard. But from a dead last Bryar Holcomb (Penton) moved Into second and then first for the win. (Results on page 26)
