With super-hot wea ther , a good rlderspectator turnout, and smoothly run and officiated races, the ACA's Riverside race proved to be one of the high points of the road racing year. At first there were all kinds of crying and moaning, but as the day progressed, the riders started commenting that they thought it was a bitehln' Idea and they really llked It. Also, much to track owner Don England's s llPrise, many of the riders comp1alned that there was no water hole this time, either. Running In the opposite direction also made It different for the spectators wIlo seemed to enjoy seeing the riders come down the big h11l. Mike Pasey, however, showed them how to go down without even touching the hill, or he had no trouble clearing the obstacle, but was a bit troubled by the sudden stop at the bottom. It was a pretty Injury free day with the ambulance only having to make one run, wilen Larry McCarty was Involved In a five man pUe-1lP andgot centar-punched, He was taken to the hospital for examination,. but was released with no apparent injuries.
