WUson won the class and all three of the 250cc motos, but lost a pair to overall wlnner DeSoto 10 the 500cc go. ThJs was the flrs t time that the young Greeves Expert has lost a moto 10 the East/West series, DeSoto (CZ) took an early lead 10 the flrst 250 Sr. go, followed closely by Dave Rogers (Bul) and Wllson. Tim Hart (Mon.) was making a gallant challenge from a poor start. WUson zapped DeSoto and Rogers, wlth Hart br1og1og 10 a hot fourth. DeSoto lost 11 on the speclally designed expert moun- U ta tn course, smashlng hls rightfoot. The HawaUan Champ was out, and Hart passed Dave Roger s (Bul) and began to challenge Wllson. Hart put for th a super effo rt, but put h1s foot 10 a holl ow and left 11, whUe he and the blke went on. He was out of the race wlth torn ligaments . 10 the second moto , Wllson andRoger s were out fr ont, when Dave endoed onto the wooden course fence, resulting 10broken r tbs, as well as other Injurtes, In the thlrd round, JIm Wes t (AJS) ' jumped in to the lead, only to D.N.F 0 when he broke a chain, WUson, wlth three wlns, took top honors and cash. Dave Rogers (Bul) held TIm Hart (Sach) at bay 10 the 125cc Sr. event. Bob Vlcca and Bryar Holcomb (Pen) were orlg1nally out front, but . DeSoto was hot 10 pursuit, WIth jus t a couple of laps to go, WUson twlsted hls ankle and knee, was out of the race, and had to settle for second overall behlnd DeSoto.Forty two r tders llned Up for the l00cc Jr. event, wlth Ron Foreman (Kaw), Duane Baade (Pen), and eventual wlnner - ~ Scott Pelkey (Sac hs) flghtlng 11 out. Bli Spann (CZ) and Al Wurtzel (C Z) battled 11 out 10 the flrst two motos of the Flrst Dlvlslon of 250cc Jr , competition. Bm always seemed to ge t -out around Al and off wheel to wheel they went. Bm took a flrst, J. Huguel (Yam) 3rd and Al Wurtzel (CZ) 4th. John Maroney (CZ) won the Dlv. II 250 Jr., ahead of Jeff Robertson (Husky) and Mike Beanway (CZ).' There are two events left 10 the EastWest ellmlnations, and the 250 Sr. class Is still wlde open.
