April 19 - CMC North motocross came to Carnegie Cycle Park this Sunday, and this CZ series race left the final series outcome st1ll undecided. Bob Grossi showed up with 250 and 400Cc Husqvarnas and swept both of the big Senior classes. . 500 Junior Bruce Kelly showed more of the style that will make him a Senior very soon, by winning all three of his motos, and 125 Junior Steve Foster says he would really like to have the bike. Grossi was the fastest man on the short, grassy course, laid out near the entrance of Carnegie Park. As Bob rode in two different classes, he found two packs of determined riders out to catch him. Bruce had won 10 of his last 12 races outright, and he kept on going today, holding off hard charges by Ron Rims (CZ) and Hay DeBeaubier (BSA ). ' Perhaps the' most thrilling action of the afternoon came during the 125cc races. It was a long and hard battle between Jim Hunter (Am-Ea.) and Roy Muscatell (Am-Ea.) . Both of these fellows had their hands full trying to hold back Steve Foster (Bu!). Foster led the 'firs t lap of the second moto, but crashed off the back of his Bultaco on a grassy climb. Steve remounted to regain the lead and finally win the moto, Jim Dieu (Sachs) won the 2nd division of 125 Jrs. The next CMC CZ series will determine the final winner. This race will be held at Plymouth Raceway on April 26. Agajantan's 21-event AMA Short-Track Motorcycle racing pr~ this Friday night (April 24th) at the Vallejo Speedway, at 8:30 p.m, The intial professional motorcycle racing program on the 1/4 mile clay oval in three years, will put the top riders from Northern Callfornta against riders from Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Southern Callfornta in a no-holds barred card. Novice, Amateur, and Expert class riders will battle in Open Competition racing. The red-hot Bre~ord recently won the indoor racing crown at the Cow Palace, and was the eighth ranked national rider in the nation last season. He rides his trusty Harley-Davidison. McLEAN NAMED OUTSTANDING NORTON DEALER Alex McLean, the owner of Motorcycle Unlimited in Corte Madera, Callf., has been named the top Norton dealer for the seven western states for 1969. During 1969 Alex sold 54 Nortons, which is quite an accomplishment since he has only had the Norton franchise for two years. He first opened in Corte Madera four years ago. Since he was 16 years old in Scotland, Alex has had a firm belief in Nortonsin their excellent handling and supreme reliability.
