Apr . 5, 1970 - Motocros s racing was the event of the day at Huntington Beach Cycle Park, and 97 bikes wer e on hand to compete in the afternoon races. Ther e wer e two cI1visions of five cI1tferent categories , the 100, 125, 250 and 500 novice, and the 100, 125, 250 and 500 expert combination. Several bikes cr ashed during the afternoon, including Mike Pasey, whocrashed dur ing his firs t two races. However, he r ode his 250 Bultaco to victory in the third race, and ended UP first overall in the Expert combination class. Larry McCarty crashed his Bultaco during the 250 Novice race, losing . the bike coming over the main jumP. Jeff Cr uzon tangled with another bike on one of the s maller jumps. Cruzon finished the race, ending UP third overall on his Husky in the 250 Novice class.
