~ Barstow ~ Ie Hosts Fast, Slick, Adelanto TT By Ela1ne Jones Photos bY Manuel Burton :i!: ~ ADELANTO, CALIF., Feb. 22 - A good ~ clear day and a super slick, fast track ~ was the setting for the Barstow MCpolnt u run. The Powder Puff competition started the day'S racing, with Brenda SmIth out In fr ont. The racing SOOl1 became much faster, and more excIting as the 20Occ's roared onto the track. Larry Taylor showed the crowd what made him the number one lightweight, as he took the 200cc Amateur-Expert Class. Dennis Vall deter mlned to move his number 25 up a few notches. grabbed second place fr om Bob Saunders. The racing became more Intense as the 250cc Novice took the field. John Caldwell won the checkered flag In the Maln Event. The racing was hard. and saw some mavin ' and groovln ' through those tight turns . Bultaco mounted Gary Anderson and Hugh Lang took second and thIrd. Tom WIllte, who had a broken bike last Sunday, had a m/c this week that could not be stopped. He Just flat put It to them In the 250cc Amateur Maln.
