HOCKIE WINS TROJAN 50 LAPPER ~ By Eddie Smith SOUTH GATE, CALI F . Feb . 13,1970Trojan Speedway fea tured a F r iday the 13th 50 lap TT MaIn Event for the 250Cc bikes. The race was won by Danny Hac kie. Danny r ode an Ossa to the victor y. F riday the 13th proved ver y unlucky though for Irwin Moon . RIdi ng a Bultaco , Moon took the lead on the first lap. He led the race for 47 laps an d then on the 48th lap he blew a piston. When the pi ston went Moon was lead Ing Danny Hockie by a halt Iap , Irwin placed seventh over all and picked up :c: first place In the Senior division. t.:l In the 250cc fiat track Main Event Jim ..,J Raymond on a Bultaco was struck by U misfor tun e on the final lap of the race. Ra ymond mi s sed a s hif t coming out of the ftnal turn and saw Larry ShaW'S Bultaco, edge a cros s the finish line . Larry Shaw so far this year has won every flat track Main In the 250 class. Dick lau s a hleh tum In the 125 Dlv. 2 Motocross at Deadman's Potnt. APPLE VALLEY, CALIF. Feb. 15, 1970The Motocross at Deadman's Point saw 150 riders compete for the top honors. The 500Cc Open was won by Jim Wilson, with an exciting show on his Greeves. Second place went to Bill Bogrner . Jim Wilson was also able to capture the 250Cc Am ./Ex. race on his smaller Greeves. The 100Cc class was taken by Hodakas all the way. Frank Wllsford, Jet! KIrkpatrick, Randy Scott and Gary Nixon took top honors In the day's hard racing.
