ALDANA THRILLS SACTO CROWD ~ By Bill Spencer Photos by John Cuthbertson and Andy Sewell SACRAMENTO, CAL., Feb. 15, 1970First year Expert Dave Aldana put three inches of tire in front of Dick (Bugs) Mann, for a win in the 15 lap Main Event. Aldana and Mann traded the front spot on almost every lap as the two BSA riders dazzled a sell-out crowd. In some laps the lead changed hands twice. Although the laps times were almost equal on every lap, each rider had hiwown section of the rough and rippley mile where he made uptime. Mann was shifting between third and fourth gear whUe Aldana stayed in top cog. Aldana stuck to the inside groove for the most part but Mann was high and wide. The two styles had the pair criss crossing through the turns for the full distance. Mark Brelsford took the jump with hard warking Dallas Baker flying through the pack...
