Feb. 8th - The Pathfinders Motor cycle Club was blessed with beautiful spring weather this Sunday at Dunlap Cycle Park for one of the most spectacular European type motocrosses to be run at the 1,100 acre play area. Although the San Joaquin Valley was covered with fog many hundreds turned out to view the sun drenched spectacular (Dunlap is above the fog line). The course at Dunlap is changed for every motocross and most agreed tbat this one was the best tbat has been designed in the area to date. The course measured one mile and a fifth in length . - . The 360 Junior and Senior classes were combined resulting in a very good battle of the Seniors against the Juniors. Bill Oliver of Coalinga really put it on the rest by winning all three motos on his new 400cc Husky with George Snider of Bakersfield havi ng his " fun" (also getting into shape for Indy?) pulling a smooth first in class and second overall. The Pathfinders are really coming through with some fantastic motocross racing and feel as though the courses keep getting be tter. Many out of area riders are showing up to take advantage of the camping and neat natural terrain course. The club is also doing a great job of running and extremely smooth r ace and has developed a scoring system tbat has enabled them to have results ready and trophy presentation within a short time after the races. Races were over and most everyone pa cked up and gone by four in the afternoon with the exception of those who s tayed to play and ride the trails of the Cycle Park.
